This patch is upgrades Fallout 2 to the latest version.
This is NOT a complete list. It's a list of the more important or more commonly asked about bugs.
-Boxing in New Reno will no longer lock up the computer.
-The Dice Game will give you winnings.
-The Lloyd quest in New Reno will not lock the computer.
-Talking to Tandi about the Vault 15 quest will not lock the
computer.
-Loading and Saving of Save Games have been sped up, for other ways to improve load times check the trouble shooting section of the readme.txt.
-Party members will not turn hostile (under most circumstances) any longer, so you will be able to talk to them all the time.
-Ghouls in Gecko will not randomly shoot at you.
-Harold will give you the right information when you are trying to optimize the power plant.
-Shopkeepers will get money more often - this is more of a tweak then a bug fix.
-Endless stopwatch in combat should be fixed.
-The car and the trunk will no longer become separated.
-Francis has been fixed.
-Hakunin movies will not appear after the GECK has been returned.
-Dragon and LoPan challenges should no longer cause Endless Stop Watch.
-Goris will no longer join if you are over your Party Member limit.
-Slave Overseer in NCR will no longer lock the computer up.
-PIP boy will no longer crash when you get too many Maps in your Automap.
-Here and Now perk will work correctly.
-NPC's max carry weight.
-NPC's runaway settings.
-The .44 does the proper amount of damage.
-NPC's who have to many dialog responses have been fixed.
-Radiation warning pops up sooner = 66 rads.
-Barter has been slightly modified.
-The bug with the Geck and the elder has been fixed.
-The problem where game wouldn't run properly on some NT/NTFS/large hard-drive setups has been fixed.
-Smitty will properly sell the car.
NEW FIXES TO THE 1.02d PATCH: Again this is NOT a complete list, but a list of the more commonly asked about problems.
-Fixed T-Ray not taking money for getting car back
-Fixed Stuart Little boxing so that he only gives you one chance to repeat.
-Also, he wasn't setting the names properly for the STUPID character, this should be fixed.
-All boxing problems have been addressed. Critical failures count as a knockdown, this is not going to be changed.
-Fixed Valerie where to go when done upgrading weapons.
-Fixed Slim Picket not taking/checking for money for the Outdoorsman Skill upgrade. Also, there should be no way to get him to give you the upgrade more than once, code put in as a safety.
-When Vegeir was sending you home with Jonny, he was trying to send the car with you too. I found out this is bad and the car isn't set up to do so. He no longer touches your car in this situation.
-Car should be compatible with patch, it also will fix some of the car problems that might occur if the car doesn't show up in correct spots.
-In related news, the trunk should be working better in conjunction with the car as the code is all new since we shipped and now knows where the car is at all times.
-One of the Engine bugs we fixed will fix the problem of the trunk showing up without the car, since the trunk script was becoming 'junked'(to speak technically).
-The car leaves with you when you leave random encounter maps, but only if the car is on that map and it has fuel. Before, if you used the out of gas car, it - would keep following you around, this is fixed.
-Slavers die and now STAY DEAD when killed by the slaves you are hunting! Amazing, bastards just didn't want to go down easily.
-Get Car part quest should be clearing now.
-Fixed the leaving maps with party member crash. This could potentially fix lots and lots of thing out there since it was killing memory at this point(this is what helps fix the cars).
-Miria should no longer follow after she is dead.
-Fixed party members going up levels with Power Armor bug.
-Fixed Tyler door bug where he would sometimes give you permission to use the door, but would attack you if you tried to use the door.
-Fixed Joey not taking money for Jet.
-Fixed problem with when the player comes out the back entrance of the raiders(secret entrance) and the car not being there.
-Fixed Saving game on 'Holy Knights' encounter do that you can finish the whole thing even after saving.
-No longer pre-maturely ends 'Murder' quest when you tell Mr. Wright that his son was poisoned.
-Fixed inability to use the dresser in New Reno map 2 where Mrs. Bishop is.
-Cody gives you exp now when he leads you to the chop shop.
-Mason will let you use the door if he tells you it's O.K.
-Myron now takes all the stuff to make drugs even if it's in his inventory. So if you tell him you want to make 3 radscorpion antidotes and switch the tails to his inventory, he'll delete them from his inventory as well.
-There no longer is any way to get $2000 from Dr. Troy for selling him jet.
-Fixed 'offcier' spelling to 'officer' with Randal.
-Fixed it so you can't get stuck on level 4 by entering from the world map before the player extracts the organ. This fix is simply due to the fact that you should only be able to enter Sierra Army Depot from the ground floor from
the town map.
-You now get xp for giving the non-working brainbot a brain.
-Buster now replenishes his supplies more often.
-Cannot enter any map but the entrance map from the town map.
-Player can complete the spleen seed even if he is a Hubologist.
-Talking Bette out of fighting should set the 'Stop-the-bar-brawl' quest to complete.
-Fixed bug with saving during lopan/dragon fights.
-Made it so there is only the Battle Field area to enter the Sierra Army Depot
-Changed it so that Melchior only lets 4 of his pets out at once. This should reduce pathing problems with multi-hex critters.
-You now get 1000 experience for getting Brian more power for his AC.
-Fixed error with using the bulletin board during combat.
-Fixed kids not being able to be pushed when they're not on their home tile.
-Fixed bulletin board error like that in the Den.
-Fixed problem with car not showing up first time with high outdoorsman.
-Fixed endless loop for not having power armor with door guard.

-Fixed bug causing some Melchior crashes related to fire geckos not being able to hit their target.

14 SFX
This is a nice little mod that pertains to the 14mm and .223 pistols. Basically, this mod replaces the SFX for these items with the ones from Fallout. See the Readme file for installation instructions.
ACM2WAV
Size: 22KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer
Converts ACM files from Fallout 1 and 2 to waveform-audio format (WAV).
Arroyo Hack
After you finish the Temple of Trials, save and exit the game. Then, replace the ARVILLAG.SAV file in your save game folder with this file (the folder should be located in your Fallout 2 directory. Example: 'C:Program FilesBlackIsleFallout2dataSAVEGAMESLOT01'). Then, go back into the game. You can now find a bunch of useful items throughout Arroyo, including a lot of ammo, every gun, and every set of armor, as well as a GECK.
Arroyo Temple Cheat
Size: 77KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer
Another cheat saved game. This one gives you Advance Powered Armor MKII, Gauss Rifle, Mega power fist and lot's of ammo and money right in the temple of trials.
B - TEAM
Size: 70.7KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society No Mutants Allowed
With this mod, all of your team members will change appearance depending on which armor they are wearing. This is a very nice mod, but I was unable to get it to work with previously saved games. However, the mod does claim to be compatible with saved games. Either way, this mod is worth downloading.
Car Mod
Size: 18KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer
This mod replaces your Highwayman with either a black one or a rusty beaten up one. To install it, use one of the following methods (provided by Duck and Cover): Method One: Before doing anything, look in you main Fallout 2 directory for a file name patch000.dat. This is the important file that makes the newer patched version of Fallout 2 run - so it would be nicer if you didn't lose it. Once you have found it, rename it to something like realpatch.dat. Then extract the zip file you've downloaded (paintjob.zip) into the main Fallout 2 directory. You should now have two new DAT files (rusty car.dat and black car.dat), and you'll need to rename one of them to patch000.dat. Once that's done, you're ready to try the mod - just run Fallout 2 in the normal way. [Note: Because the original patch000.dat file isn't being used by the Fallout 2 program anymore, the latest bug fixes you're used to won't be running.] Method Two: If you have the brilliant FAME program installed, all you need to do is extract the zip file (paintjob.zip) into its /patch subdirectory. Then run FAME - and that's it... Also worth noting is that with FAME you can run the patch AND as many mods as you like (although obviously two cars isn't going to work). (FAME can be found on this page)
Chop Shop Hack
Well, the Readme file says 'This file will transform the New Reno chop shop into a wondrous treasure trove of weapons and equipment.' To say the least, this mod not only delivers but exceeds this promise. Just view the readme file and follow the directions there to install.
Deep Gameplay Impact Folder
Cheers goes out to Jim, a local of the Community, for pointing this mod out to me. To install this mod, just extract it to your Fallout 2 folder. For the most part, this file modifies the name and descriptions of some weapons, armor, and ammo. Plus, it changes a few other items completly, including the pic and damage. Overall, this is a pretty spiffy mod.
DeSoto
A very spiffy mod that changes the graphic for the car to something else.
DNA
Size: 26KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society No Mutants Allowed
This modification is one that every Fallout 2 fan should check out. It will change the pipe rifle into a Gecko Fire Weapon, Combat Leather Armor into the Gecko Flame Armor, and the Rocket Launcher into a Deathclaw Launcher that does a lot of damage! However, it should be noted that the only weapon compatible with the Gecko Flame Armor is the Gecko Flame Weapon. Either way, be sure to check out this mod. Cheers goes out to Jim for sending me this mod, and to Grendelin for creating it.
Falche v2.10
Size: 155KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer No Mutants Allowed
This program lets you edit your character stats, perks, resistances, and a bunch of other things.
Fallout 2 Children Patch
Size: 709KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer No Mutants Allowed
This patch is only for NON-US versions of Fallout 2. If you do not see kids in your game, then use this patch. First, unzip all the files to your Fallout 2 directory, and then install the US patch (you need a *.exe file from that archive) and that's it. Also, be sure to note that if you do not have any children in your game, it might be because it is against the law in your country to have children in any game. If this is the case, you could be breaking the law of your country by using this patch.
Fallout 2 Editor
This is the official Fallout 2 Editor. However, it may not be what you expect. Here is what Interplay said about it: 'Please keep in mind that this editor is not the holy grail. It was never meant to be released to the public. As a result, you may boot the editor up and realize that it doesn't match your expectations for a commercially-released RPG editor. You may suffer some retina burn. Perhaps a strange itching sensation. Constipation. So be prepared - you are about to experience a game editor, intended only for developers.'
Fallout 2 Inventory Editor
Size: 199KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer No Mutants Allowed
This program allows you to change your inventory, but you cannot add new items. Read the readme.txt file before modifying your saved games.

Fallout: New Vision
Size: 6.56 mb Mirrors: 3ddownloads The Radiated Society
TeamX presents 'Fallout2: A New Vision' v1.2 -- final release! -- 'A New Vision' is our first major Fallout2 mod. It contains quite a bit, but mainly and first of all: - plot changes (over 20 characters, 7 of which are completely new and the remaining have had their dialogs rewritten and new quests implemented) - new items (over 30 in all, including weapons and drugs) - maps (some original levels have been redone, and a few new minor locations have been added) - ...everything else (changes in the weapon system, random encounters, etc.) Contents: 1. Mod description 2. New in version 1.2 3. Installation 4. About Us 5. Acknowledgements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Mod Description -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mod touches upon Arroyo, Klamath, the regions around them and (slightly) Redding. The most assiduous attention is given to the plot, character development and dialogs. The mod is braced with a unified plot, around with the action of the mod takes place. And at the same time there are plenty of side quests, which have no or little effect on the plot and are just there for the hell of it. The way your game will go relies heavily on things like your base statistics and further development (for instance, investing into previously seldomly used skills may reap interesting results in the future). The mod encloses several locations and maps. For instance, the original rat-infested caves in Klamath have been completely redone, and are now something entirely different. The world map has also been imbued, so watch out for new mini-locations and special quests. The mod adds various new items, including weapons and everyone’s favorite – drugs! The weapons system has also been substantially modified – the specifications of some types of ammunition have changed and some arms have been replaced. New possibilities have also been added – like combining different components in order to create various drugs, etc. The mod fits almost perfectly into the original game world and plot, so after finishing the mod you can just go on playing the original game – but now with new items and abilities! OH AND YEAH: This is but a short list of changes, you’ll just have to finger out the rest on your own ;). And another thing... Quite a few characters from the original game have remained untouched. Well, we were making a mod, not a brand new game ;). So if you come across some minor mismatches in the dialogs of the “new” and “old” characters along the way, then just remember – it’s not a new game, just a mod ;). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. New in version 1.2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attention! The text below might contain spoilers! In version 1.2 the bugs and errors, that were reported to us on the TeamX forum, were fixed. That is: - bugs with the rumors about unfairly passing the trials; - bug with Emily in the baths; - missing lines in the dialogues with key NPCs about the sewers in Klamath; - bug with the location of Shack - dialogue with Jack now works correctly. New Year comes to New Vision. That means: New Vision now includes balance changes from the New Year mod by TeamX: - higher chance of random encounters (10-15%), minimum level requirement is 5; - encounters with Enclave patrols much more dangerous; - specs of some critters altered; - price of munitions raised, their quantity lowered; - sniper rifle now much more rare and powerful; - super-stimpack doesn't take away hit-points, instead lowers perception like the Healing Powder. Plus, traders have less bullets to sell and they are less likely to be respawned. Fixed bug with the Holy Grenade: now it can be found. Executables fixed with the patch that diminished the speed of map traveling. Minor bug fixes, though not amounting to the proud title of a patch :). Finally: the mod incorporates 'MrFixit' to the storyline. Now you can do upgrades and assemble items by yourself, but prior to this you will have to learn how do it from the 'specialists'. Besides, NPCs who do upgrades now can't perform them without special spare parts. Addendum: more information on 'MrFixit' can be found on www.teamx.ru.

Gauss Mod
Size: 709 bytes Mirrors: The Radiated Society No Mutants Allowed
This is a Gauss mod by Francois Lebreau that was pointed out to me by Jim. Overall, this mod will improve many aspects of the Gauss Rifle, making it more expensive, lighter, and adding a burst option.
Haxor Character Addition
Size: 4.0 KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Outpost 71 0
Haxor is a premade character you can add to the standard list. You have to go into the Fallout system files in My Computer/ C:/ Program Files/ BlackIsle/ Fallout 2/ date/ premade and drop the files in, and they should show up. Here is the description: This character is considered a genius by the elders. He has never been a problem, and has always helped out when he could. Whenever the traders came by he would always help them as much as he could, in hopes one of them might be kind enough to give him one of those neat looking boxes with the flashing lights to thank him for his help. No such luck, so, as any young lad would do, he stole one, and has learned everything there is to learn from it. With such a newfound enjoyment, he jumped at the chance to leave the tribes grounds to search and learn about everything else. With his intelligence, he can quickly pass the Chosen One's test and continue in his quest of knowledge. No computer will be safe from Haxor.
Hintbook at start
Size: 12KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Freelancer
Jackal Character Addition
Size: 4.0 kb Mirrors: The Radiated Society Outpost 71 0
Jackal is a new premade character you can chose as a preset in the creation screen. Here is his description: This character was gifted from birth with amazing eyesight. He has made a living so far from stealing and blackmailing people from eavesdropping. He does not wanted to take the test that the elders told him to. He does not like the idea of being the 'Chosen One,' he has always liked hiding in the shadows and only arising to speak only when he would benefit. Never has he been in the lime light and he does not like it. He has always been fascinated by projectile weapons and thrown weapons, probably because he would much rather solve 'problems' from a distance than get too intimately involved.
Klamath Hack
After you visit Klamath, save and exit the game. Then, replace the KLAMALL.SAV file in your save game folder with this one (the folder should be located in your Fallout 2 directory. Example: 'C:Program FilesBlackIsleFallout2dataSAVEGAMESLOT01'). Then, go back into the game and search Trapper Town of Klamath. You will find a bunch of good stuff, including an abundance of ammo, guns, and armor, as well as other rare and vital items.
Klint the Generous
This modification makes Klint, the guard at the beginning of the game in Arroyo, more generous. In fact, he will provide you with a lot of fire power, ammo, and armor. To make it even better, he can even give you Frank Horrigan's armor! What more can you ask for when you first start a new game? Credit goes out to Jim for sending me this mod, and to Smackrazor for creating it.
Longbaugh's Fallout 2 Mod
This modification was made by Longbaugh, and pointed out to me by local Community member Jim. This mod replaces most of the weapons in the game with something new, and is definetly worth checking out. To apply this mod, you can either use falche, or do the following: 1) Unzip the file to your Fallout 2 folder. 2) Rename the longmodb1.6.dat file to patch000.dat (if you have a file with this name in the folder already, you may want to make a backup of it before hand). 3) Play the game, and enjoy.

Size: 36KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society No Mutants Allowed
This mod transforms the lazy NPC Maria into a useful and interactive person! She is now given more dialogue during combat, the ability to level, and a bunch of other cool attributes. Unfortunately, I was only able to get this mod to work after starting a new game. This is still a neat mod, though.

Ted Character addition
Fallout 4 Germany
Size: 4.0 KB Mirrors: The Radiated Society Outpost 71 0
Ted is a preset character you can add the the list on the creation section. You have to go into the Fallout system files in My Computer/ C:/ Program Files/ BlackIsle/ Fallout 2/ date/ premade and drop the files in, and they should show up. Here is the description: This character is, well, very unique. No one talks to him, and no one cares about him. This is fine for ted, because he does not care about anyone else. He was perfectly happy living in his little shack tinkering with his toys, until some dumb old lady in a robe came and told him he was chosen. Chosen for what? Oh well, ted just went along with it in the hope that it would be over soon. His feelings were suddenlu changed when the elder told him that there were explosive materials in the temple. He started preparing right away for his test. He loves chemicals and bombs. He can kill numbers of people in one well set blast, and he never fails. He is the smartest of his generation, and the smartest person ever to set foot in Arroyo. He is exceptionally skilled in the sciences and with traps.
